
Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman set to star in the romantic comedy The Love Hypothesis.
Lili Reinhart (Riverdale) and Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express) are set to star in The Love Hypothesis, a romantic comedy based on Ali Hazelwood’s acclaimed novel, as reported by Deadline. The film centers on Olive Smith (Reinhart), a biology PhD candidate, and Dr. Adam Carlsen (Bateman), a prominent professor known for his difficult personality, who engage in a fake relationship that disrupts their meticulously planned theories of love.
Claire Scanlon (Set It Up) will direct the film, with a screenplay written by Sarah Rothschild (The Sleepover). The project is being produced by Amazon MGM and MRC, with Elizabeth Cantillon (Charlie’s Angels) as producer, while Reinhart, Hazelwood, and Catherine Hagedorn will serve as executive producers.
Currently, there is no confirmed start date for production. Reinhart recently appeared in the TV series Hal & Harper, which debuted at Sundance and will later be available on Mubi. Bateman was featured in the series Based on a True Story and worked once again with Murder on the Orient Express star and director Kenneth Branagh on the sequel, Death on the Nile, as well as in the upcoming film The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde.
