DC's Wonder Woman film has enlisted Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira.
Following the success of Superman, DC Studios is shifting its focus toward the future of its feature film lineup, including a reboot of the Amazonian warrior Wonder Woman and the announcement of the film's screenwriter. Studio co-head and Superman director James Gunn has confirmed that Ana Nogueira has been hired to write Wonder Woman. The name might sound familiar as she wrote the screenplay for Supergirl, which is set to hit theaters next summer. Nogueira is establishing her presence at DC Studios, as she is also reportedly working on a script for Teen Titans for the DCU.
Currently, there are no details available regarding Wonder Woman, except that it will be set in the DCU where metahumans have existed for centuries. It is also expected to be connected to the upcoming HBO series Paradise Lost, which will take place on the Amazons' island of Themyscira. This series, which is in development, is said to explore the origins of the Amazons prior to Wonder Woman's arrival.
Meanwhile, Supergirl features Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon portraying Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in a story inspired by the graphic novel Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella), the cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, Jason Momoa, Alice Hewkin, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. Supergirl is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2026.
