      Universal and Amazon MGM Studios have unveiled the trailer for the newest adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic science-fiction tale, War of the Worlds. Produced by Patrick Aiello (As Above, So Below) and Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch), and directed by music video veteran Rich Lee, this version centers the story on a single computer screen managed by Ice Cube’s Homeland Security analyst.

      Despite this one-location setting, War of the Worlds boasts a diverse cast that includes Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg, Andrea Savage, Henry Hunter Hall, Iman Benson, Devon Bostick, and Michael O’Neill. Watch the trailer below…

      This contemporary adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel follows Will Radford (Ice Cube), a leading cyber-security analyst for Homeland Security, who spends his days monitoring potential threats to national security through a mass surveillance system, until an attack by an unidentified entity prompts him to question if the government is concealing information from him... and the rest of society.

      War of the Worlds will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting July 30th.
