Jack Reynor will be joining Rachel Brosnahan in the second season of Presumed Innocent.

      The second season of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent has secured its second leading actor. Joining Rachel Brosnahan from Superman will be Jack Reynor (The Perfect Couple).

      Apple has recently transformed Presumed Innocent into an anthology series, where each season will feature a new set of characters solving a fresh murder case. The first season was adapted from Scott Turow’s novel of the same name, while the upcoming second season will draw from Jo Murray’s debut novel, Dissection of a Murder.

      Brosnahan will portray criminal defense attorney Leila Reynolds in her first significant case, while the details of Reynor’s character are being kept confidential. Reynor has appeared in various films and series, including The Peripheral, Midsommar, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Flora and Son.

      David E. Kelley will return as the showrunner for the second season and will executive produce alongside JJ Abrams, representing David E. Kelley Productions and Bad Robot, respectively. Jake Gyllenhaal, who featured in the first season, will also serve as an executive producer. Presumed Innocent has recently received multiple Emmy nominations in the acting categories, including one for Gyllenhaal in the Limited/Anthology Series category.

      When Leila Reynolds is assigned her first murder case, she is taken aback by its high-profile nature: the killing of a prominent and respected judge. This case feels far beyond her experience level, yet the defendant, Jack Millman, is adamant. He wants her—only her.
