      Details about Matt Smith's character are being kept secret, but the publication confirms that he will portray the film's villain. Smith has been acting for several years and has gained popularity for his performances in Doctor Who, Netflix’s The Crown, and the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. His next appearance will be in Darren Aronofsky’s thriller, Caught Stealing, where he stars alongside Austin Butler.

      Little information is available about the project apart from Shawn Levy's direction and the screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper. Announced at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Starfighter is set five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker.
