Max Minghella has come on board for DC's Clayface film.
THR reports that Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale) is the latest cast member to join DC Studios’ Clayface, an upcoming horror film inspired by the classic Batman villain.
Directed by James Watkins (Speak No Evil) and written by Mike Flanagan (The Life of Chuck), Clayface will be the third film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s reimagined DC Universe, following Gunn’s Superman and next year’s Supergirl directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella).
Minghella joins Tom Rhys Harries (The Return) and Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) in this $40 million film, which tells the story of "an up-and-coming actor (Harries) whose face is scarred by a gangster. In desperation, the actor seeks assistance from a fringe scientist resembling Elizabeth Holmes (Ackie)." Minghella is reported to portray a detective from Gotham City who is in a relationship with Ackie’s character.
Clayface is scheduled to be released on September 11, 2026, while the Milly Alcock-led Supergirl will be in theaters on June 26, 2026.
