The Office spin-off The Paper shifts to a binge release format.
We are just two weeks away from the debut of The Office spin-off, The Paper, which has recently changed its premiere details. Initially, The Paper was set to be released on a weekly basis on NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock. However, Peacock has now decided to switch to a binge release format, making all 10 episodes of the first season available when it launches on September 4th.
The reason for this abrupt shift in the release schedule has not been disclosed, but since the first four episodes were originally meant to premiere on the 4th, Peacock may have concluded it was better to release everything simultaneously rather than spreading the remaining six episodes out over several weeks. We will have to see if further clarification on this decision comes to light.

The Paper is not a complete spin-off of The Office; instead, it follows the same documentary filmmaking team as they document a different workplace, focusing on a small-town newspaper trying to navigate the changing media landscape. The only character from The Office to make an appearance in the spin-off is Oscar Nuñez's Oscar Martinez, who is not particularly thrilled about being back in front of the cameras with the documentary crew.
This documentary team, who captured the essence of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series The Office, now finds a new topic when they come across a historic Midwestern newspaper and its publisher, who is working to bring it back to life.
The Paper stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez, along with guest appearances from Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson, and Nancy Lenehan.
The Paper will premiere on September 4th.
