Well Go USA has released a trailer for The Ugly, a South Korean mystery thriller directed by Yeon Sang-ho, known for Train to Busan. The film centers on Im Dong-hwan (played by Park Jeong-min), who embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his mother’s disappearance when her remains are discovered four decades later. The cast features Park Jeong-min, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-been, Im Seong-jae, and Han Ji-hyeon. Watch the trailer below…
From Yeon Sang-ho (Train to Busan, Peninsula) comes a tale of generational grief and guilt. While supervising a documentary team filming his blind father at work, Im Dong-hwan receives a call informing him that his long-missing mother’s remains have been found after forty years. Driven to uncover the truth behind her disappearance, Dong-hwan sets off on a complicated journey through his family’s painful history, revealing dark secrets along the way.
The Ugly will hit theaters on September 26th.
