A House of Dynamite Trailer: Kathryn Bigelow Envisions a Nuclear Strike on the United States.

After the longest hiatus of her career, Kathryn Bigelow's highly anticipated return was one of the fall's most significant film events. A House of Dynamite, a thriller that explores the scenario of a single, untraceable missile being launched at the United States, boasts an impressive cast including Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Kyle Allen, and Kaitlyn Dever. After its premiere at Venice, it will be featured at the New York Film Festival this weekend before its release in October, and the first full trailer has now been unveiled.

In his review, Rory O’Connor remarked, “If human existence were to suddenly come to an end tomorrow, would it be because of a) the impulsive actions of a military hothead, b) the low success rate of even the most advanced interceptor missiles, or c) a mix of various dire scenarios? These possibilities are explored in A House of Dynamite, Kathryn Bigelow's first film in eight years and a narrative as volatile as its title implies. While Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, and Jason Clarke are featured, the true star is a solitary, rogue nuclear missile. This unseen, unforeseen omen of disaster is barreling towards Chicago with only twenty minutes to detonation—unless those in authority can avert disaster.”
