David Bradley’s First Doctor is set to return to Marinus in a new Doctor Who audio adventure.

A new full-cast audio adventure featuring the First Doctor is set to be released this January, as Big Finish announces The First Doctor Unbound: Return to Marinus, the second installment in the trilogy starring David Bradley as the First Doctor. This audio drama serves as a sequel to the 1964 TV serial The Keys of Marinus.

In Return to Marinus, the Doctor and his companions – Susan, Ian, and Barbara – return to the planet Marinus a full century after their last visit. Upon arrival, they are celebrated as legendary heroes, but something seems amiss. The Doctor observes that the inhabitants live in enforced peace and harmony, which leads him to suspect that the Conscience Machine has been reactivated, stripping the people of their free will. He is determined to uncover who is responsible for this activation.

David Bradley will be accompanied by Claudia Grant as Susan, Jamie Glover as Ian, Jemma Powell as Barbara, alongside Joseph Millson, Tomothy Blore, and Nicholas Briggs as the Daleks.

The First Doctor Unbound: Return to Marinus is scheduled for release in January 2026, and it is currently available for pre-order at £13.99 for the download version and £16.99 for both the download and the limited collector’s edition CD.
