Elisabeth Moss has shared an update regarding the long-anticipated sequel to The Invisible Man.

Released shortly before the onset of the global pandemic in 2020, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man emerged not only as one of the year's standout films but also earned $144 million from a modest budget of just $7 million. It’s intriguing, then, that despite initial discussions about a sequel, with both James Wan and Jason Blum expressing their desire to be involved in a follow-up, the Universal monster has remained elusive over the past five years.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, the Emmy Award-winning actor from The Handmaid’s Tale disclosed that work on a sequel is still ongoing.

“I think it's significant. We really cherish that movie. The team that created it...we take immense pride in it,” she stated. “We genuinely want to ensure that if we proceed with a sequel, it deserves to be made and it must be at least as good, if not better. That’s what has caused some delays for us.”

Moss added, “But I don’t see that as a negative. I believe that if we are going to proceed, it needs to be done right. However, we remain committed to creating it. We are still developing it; we just need to finalize the right script.”

Next on Moss’s agenda is the horror-comedy Shell, in which she stars alongside Kate Hudson as a woman who enters into a Faustian bargain with a wellness mogul harboring a dark secret.
