New U.S. Trailer for Park Chan-wook's No Other Choice Centers on Revenge

Debuting to immediate praise at the Venice Film Festival earlier this autumn, Park Chan-wook’s *No Other Choice* is set to arrive in the U.S. for the New York Film Festival this week, ahead of NEON's release on Christmas Day. This adaptation of Donald E. Westlake’s *The Ax* is a dark comedy thriller about a man who is laid off from the paper company where he worked for 25 years. After some time without a job, he discovers a solution: to completely eliminate his rivals. The new trailer has now been released in anticipation of its NYFF premiere.

The film is adapted by Park, Lee Kyung-mi (known for *Sympathy for Lady Vengeance* and *The Truth Beneath*), Don McKellar (*The Sympathizer*), and Lee Ja-hye (*Decision to Leave* and *The Handmaiden*), featuring a cast that includes Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, Cha Seung-won, and Yoo Yeon-seok.

In his review, Christopher Schobert noted, “It’s hard to say if Park Chan-wook listens to the Sex Pistols. However, while watching his latest movie, *No Other Choice*, I couldn’t help but reflect on John Lydon’s famous line from the band's disastrous last performance in 1978: ‘Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?’ *No Other Choice* runs for 139 minutes and delves into that feeling—exploring what it means to be betrayed by employers, rivals, and artificial intelligence. It also tackles the theme of fighting back—truly fighting back.”
