The Legend of Zelda movie reveals an initial glimpse of Zelda and Link.
After avoiding screen adaptations of their video games until the release of 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which helped to erase the memory of the 1993 live-action version, Nintendo is now bringing another of its iconic franchises to the big screen. Wes Ball, known for directing The Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is set to bring The Legend of Zelda to life.
The Legend of Zelda is inspired by the renowned Nintendo fantasy video game series that debuted in 1986 on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The story follows the adventures of the elfin hero Link and Princess Zelda as they strive to protect their homeland of Hyrule from the evil warlord Ganon.
As production moves forward in New Zealand, the official Nintendo Today app has provided the first glimpse of the characters, showcasing young actors Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. You can view the images here…
Additionally, The Legend of Zelda is scheduled to be released on May 7th, 2027.
