The War Doctor faces challenges in the latest Doctor Who story, The War Doctor Rises: Cybergene.

      In a brand-new full-cast audio drama released today by Big Finish, the War Doctor faces off against all Cybermen in an epic showdown titled The War Doctor Rises: Cybergene. As the Time War continues, the Time Lords and Daleks are locked in a universe-altering battle, but a new danger has emerged. A fresh promotional video can be viewed below.

      This latest audio adventure depicts the ongoing conflict between the Time Lords and Daleks, and when the War Doctor confronts the foes of Gallifrey on a ravaged planet, he discovers that wounded soldiers are being preserved through technological enhancements. Up until this point in the war between Gallifrey and Skaro, there has been no sign of the Cybermen in the universe—until now.

      Severely injured and deceased soldiers are kept alive by means that are familiar to the Doctor, marking the beginning of a terrifying evolution of the Cybermen threat. Accompanied by the seasoned surgeon Nesta, the Doctor will traverse multiple worlds, explore an ancient Cyber-tomb, and combat every variant of Cyberman ever featured on television.

      The cast includes Jonathan Carley as the War Doctor and Mitra Djalili as Nesta. They are joined by Nicholas Briggs as the Cybermen, Wayne Forester as Jellik/Cardew, Harriet Kershaw as Tyrus, Shogo Miyakita as Orgreave, Nicholas Khan as Davius, Rachel Atkins as Vargeth, Clive Hayward as Vokol, Glen McCready as Captain Rorval, and Tracy Wiles as Ensign Zolan.
