Fans of Doctor Who have something special to look forward to in February with the release of Doctor Who – The Lost Stories: The Collected Sixth Doctor 1 by Big Finish Productions. This digital compilation includes full-cast audio dramas featuring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant, adapted from eight stories that were never produced during the classic era but have now found their place at Big Finish.

Colin Baker reprises his role as the Sixth Doctor, alongside Nicola Bryant as his companion Peri, as they embark on adventures across time and space, ranging from the Elizabethan period on Earth to the far reaches of the cosmos. Set after the 22nd Series of 1985, these tales include:

In The Nightmare Fair by Graham Williams, the TARDIS lands in Blackpool in 1985 where the Doctor plans to enjoy the attractions, unaware that the Celestial Toymaker is keeping a watchful eye on him. The stakes are high, and losing could come at a heavy cost.

Mission to Magnus by Philip Martin sees the Doctor and Peri confronting numerous foes on the planet Magnus, from schoolyard bullies to Rana Zandusia, the planet's nefarious matriarch. They also encounter the slug-like Sil, still reeling from his previous defeat on Varos, while an old enemy of the Doctor lurks deeper within Magnus, casting a dark shadow over their future.

In Leviathan by Brian Finch and Paul Finch, the Doctor grapples with the Sentinels of the New Dawn and the vengeful Herne the Hunter. Arriving in a medieval setting where aging is unheard of, the Doctor and Peri meet a man trying to escape his fate. Can the Doctor thwart Herne’s plans? He must search a mysterious cave for answers.

The Hollows of Time by Christopher H Bidmead takes the Doctor and Peri to the village of Hollowdean, where they visit Reverend Foxwell but leave with only foggy recollections. Soon, they are drawn into uncovering mysteries involving a strange chauffeur, enormous sand creatures, and the enigmatic ‘Professor Stream.’

Paradise 5 by PJ Hammond and Andy Lane transports the action to Targos Delta, where the Doctor intends to reunite with an old friend who vanished after visiting the Paradise 5 resort. What dark secret lies beneath the resort’s marble and gold, and will the Doctor be reunited with his friend?

Point of Entry by Barbara Clegg and Marc Platt follows the Doctor and Peri back to 16th-century England, where playwright Kit Marlowe is in the midst of writing Doctor Faustus. The narrative is disrupted by the skeletal figure of a Spaniard named Velez, searching for a stone blade, leading to a chaotic situation that requires the Doctor to act quickly.

The Song of Megaptera by Pat Mills propels the Doctor and Peri far into the future and deep into space aboard a massive harvesting ship that targets colossal space whales. The duo must use their ingenuity to navigate this perilous situation and protect the Megaptera from extinction.

Finally, in The Macros by Ingrid Pitt and Tony Rudlin, the TARDIS materializes on the USS Eldridge shortly after the catastrophic Philadelphia Experiment. With most crew members dead and the ship in disarray, the Doctor understands that the root of the problem lies in another dimension, but he may inadvertently unleash an even greater disaster in his quest for a solution.
