The Tomb Raider series completes its cast with the additions of Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and others.
Amazon Prime's forthcoming live-action series, Tomb Raider, has completed its casting. Alongside Sophie Turner, the cast features a notable ensemble including Sigourney Weaver (Avatar: Fire and Ash) and Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus) in key roles.
The series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with Turner stepping into the iconic role of Lara Croft for the next chapter of the beloved video game franchise. Weaver will portray Evelyn Wallis, “a mysterious, high-flying woman intent on exploiting Lara’s abilities,” while Isaacs will take on the role of Atlas de Mornay, Lara’s maternal uncle and executor of the Croft estate.
Additionally, the cast includes Martin Bobb-Semple (One Of Us Is Lying) as Lara’s tech-savvy companion Zip, Bill Paterson (House of the Dragon) as her butler Winston, Jack Bannon (Pennyworth) as Gerry, John Heffernan (A Gentleman in Moscow) as David, Celia Imrie (The Thursday Murder Club) as Francine, in addition to Paterson Joseph (Wonka), Sasha Luss (Anna), Juliette Motamed (Magic Mike’s Last Dance), and August Wittgenstein (The Crown).
“Tomb Raider features a wealth of iconic characters,” stated Waller-Bridge. “I am excited to bring some personal and fan favorites to life while also introducing a few new characters of our own into the mix. This cast exceeds my wildest dreams.”
Waller-Bridge is responsible for writing, executive producing, and co-showrunning the series, with Chad Hodge as executive producer and co-showrunner. Jonathan Van Tulleken (Shōgun) will direct and also serve as an executive producer.
