Godzilla Makes a Comeback in New York in the Initial Teaser for Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero.
Considered a significant milestone in the legacy of Godzilla films, Takashi Yamazaki's 2023 film Godzilla Minus One has grossed over $116 million globally on a budget of $10-$15 million, also winning Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards.
Following accolades from prominent figures such as Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, and Guillermo del Toro, Yamazaki has already prepared for his Hollywood debut with the enigmatic project Grandgear, produced by J.J. Abrams and backed by Sony, which will hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
Before that, he is returning to the Godzilla franchise. Godzilla Minus Zero, a sequel scheduled for release on November 3 in Japan and three days later in the United States, takes place in 1949, two years after the events of the previous film. The first teaser has now been revealed at CinemaCon, showing that the kaiju will once again invade New York City.
