Florence Pugh will star in The Midnight Library.

      Florence Pugh (Thunderbolts*) is set to star and produce a film adaptation of Matt Haig’s acclaimed fantasy novel, The Midnight Library. Pugh will portray Nora Seed, who discovers herself in a library situated between life and death, where she can explore all the potential lives she could have led. The film will be directed by Garth Davis (Lion), based on a screenplay by Laura Wade (Rivals) and Nick Payne (We Live In Time).

      The Midnight Library is being produced by Studiocanal and Blueprint Pictures, with Haig serving as an executive producer alongside Pugh. “I couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Florence Pugh on The Midnight Library,” Davis expressed. “Her warmth and talent are enchanting, and I believe we will create something special with Matt’s iconic novel. This story resonates deeply with us — a tribute to life in all its possibilities and intricacies. With Graham Broadbent, Blueprint Pictures, and Studiocanal backing us, I’m eager to bring this adventure to light.”

      Production for The Midnight Library is set to commence in early 2027. In the meantime, Pugh will appear in two much-anticipated films, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, both releasing on December 18th. She will also feature in the TV miniseries East of Eden.
