Jaime P. Gomez is at the forefront of the sci-fi thriller Transfer Complete.
Jaime P. Gomez (The Rookie, Training Day, Nash Bridges, Law & Order) is set to star in and direct the independent sci-fi thriller Transfer Complete, a high-concept film that delves into artificial intelligence, time travel, and the implications of foreseeing the future. Known for his extensive work in American film and television, Gomez brings years of expertise to the project, leading a narrative that fuses psychological tension with philosophical exploration.
Created and penned by David Mokriski, Transfer Complete centers on a brilliant physicist whose groundbreaking experiment creates a bridge to the future through an advanced AI-driven system. As the technology begins to predict events before they happen, the scientist becomes increasingly engulfed by the potential it holds, compelling him to face difficult questions regarding free will, ethics, and whether some discoveries are best left undiscovered.
Producer Devin Reeve, a member of the Television Academy, Producers Guild of America (PGA), and SAG-AFTRA, was drawn to the screenplay's blend of ambitious concepts and emotional depth. “What attracted me to Transfer Complete was its ability to use science fiction to probe profound human themes. Underneath the time travel, artificial intelligence, and suspense lies a narrative about obsession, consequences, and the extent to which we are prepared to challenge the impossible. It’s intelligent, thought-provoking filmmaking that prompts viewers to grapple with the same dilemmas long after the film concludes.”
Mokriski, who is also an executive producer, is the founder of Armchair Philosophy Films. He earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara, concentrating on metaphysics and ethics in his academic pursuits. These themes serve as the backbone of the film, which examines the ethical ramifications of technological progress and humanity's relentless quest to comprehend what is to come. Blending intellectual science fiction with character-driven storytelling, Transfer Complete poses a challenging central question: if humanity were to acquire the ability to see the future, should it use that power?
The film is produced by Armchair Philosophy Films in collaboration with Sandbar Films and InnoVate Productions.
