U.S. Trailer for Hirokazu Koreeda's Sheep in the Box Debuts in Anticipation of July Release

With the numerous films NEON showcased at this year's Cannes Film Festival, it's expected that several will be hitting theaters this summer. On July 24, coinciding with the release of Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell, they will launch Hirokazu Koreeda’s Sheep in the Box in U.S. theaters, starting in New York and Los Angeles, after its North American premiere as the Closing Night film at Japan Cuts.

Featuring Daigo, Kuwaki Rimu, and Haruka Ayase, the film's synopsis states: “In the near future, a grieving couple who has lost their son invites a humanoid into their lives that resembles both the appearance and voice of their deceased child.” This film is Koreeda’s first feature of the year, with a potential fall festival run and release planned for his second feature, Look Back, which will be distributed by GKIDS.
