The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro are set to receive an official sequel titled The Legacy of Zorro from Big Finish.
The daring swordsman Zorro has been a legendary vigilante since his introduction in 1919 by Johnston McCulley. Since that time, he has featured in various films and literature, including the 1998 film The Mask of Zorro, starring Antonio Banderas, and its sequel, The Legend of Zorro, released in 2005. Now, Big Finish Productions has revealed that the narrative from these two films will continue this November with The Legacy of Zorro.
In this upcoming audio drama, Martin Marquez reprises the role of Alejandro Murrieta, also known as Zorro, as he resumes his battle against the ruthless villains threatening the innocent residents of California.
Set five years after the American Civil War in 1870, The Legacy of Zorro depicts a time when the legend of Zorro has faded into myth during his absence. Unfortunately for the people of California, former Confederates Catherine Newbold Hill and Sheriff Nathan Longstreet are kidnapping hundreds to exploit as slave labor in their search for the lost gold of Don Rafael Montero. When one captive manages to escape, Alejandro Murrieta puts on the Zorro mask once more.
The collection includes six episodes titled:
- Zorro’s Last Ride
- Saint of California
- The Blade of Zorro
- The Masquerade of Zorro
- The Son of Zorro
- The Return of Zorro
The Legacy of Zorro is available for pre-order as a digital download for £19.99 on the Big Finish website, scheduled for release in November.
