Vertical has released a trailer for Pendulum, the first feature film from writer-director Mark Heyman.
This folk horror story centers on Patrick and Abigail, a couple who attend a new-age retreat in hopes of healing after experiencing a traumatic event. However, as paranoia sets in with Patrick growing skeptical of the retreat's mysterious leader, they start to suspect that the group is concealing a frightening reality.
The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor, Anna Deavere Smith, Jena Malone, alongside Norman Reedus and Jacki Weaver. You can watch the trailer below…
Married couple Patrick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Phoebe Dynevor) travel to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, enticed by the chance of recovery after a traumatic incident. Patrick is determined to help his wife but begins to lose trust in the retreat’s cryptic leader (Jacki Weaver) as Abigail seemingly becomes enchanted by her. As suspicion escalates, the couple must figure out whether the group's spiritual practices genuinely promote healing or hide a terrifying truth that could engulf them both.
Pendulum is scheduled for release on January 1st.
