El director Trey Edward Shults (Waves) sabe de efectos visuales impactantes y narrativas complejas, pero Hurry Up Tomorrow podría ser su viaje más alocado hasta la fecha. Hurry Up Tomorrow ve a Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye abordar una película de suspense psicológico dirigida y editada por Shults, basada en el sexto álbum de estudio de Tesfaye del mismo nombre.
