Secondo Deadline, il progetto è un thriller romantico soprannaturale guidato da Jake Gyllenhaal con una genesi insolita: Shyamalan ha formulato la sua storia con il titano della commedia Nicholas Sparks, che - lavorando sullo "stesso concetto e sullo stesso insieme di personaggi" - scriverà un romanzo, e ogni progetto "è stato adattato ai rispettivi media".
