      Keke Palmer has just won the Entertainer of the Year award at the NAACP Image Awards and is set to maintain her successful trajectory with the new project The ‘Burbs.

      This television adaptation of the 1989 movie features Palmer in the leading role, along with six new recurring guest stars joining the cast.

      According to Variety, Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), Justin Kirk (Weeds), Kyrie McAlpin (Will Trent), Danielle Kennedy (Narcos), and Randy Oglesby (For All Mankind) will be part of the series.

      Alongside Palmer, they will join previously announced cast members including Jack Whitehall, Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar.

      Celeste Hughey is the writer of The ‘Burbs and serves as an executive producer alongside Palmer and Rachel Shuker. Dana Olsen, who penned the original film, is acting as co-executive producer.

      As per the official logline, the series takes place in the present day and "follows a young couple who have hesitantly moved to the husband’s childhood home. Their lives are turned upside down when a new neighbor arrives across the street, revealing long-hidden secrets of the cul-de-sac and introducing new, dangerous threats that disrupt the peace of their seemingly quiet neighborhood."
