Roxy Cinema has curated a selection by Martin Scorsese, featuring a 35mm print of Bringing Out the Dead on Friday and Saturday; The Quiet Man will be shown in 35mm on Saturday and Sunday; additionally, David Lynch shorts and Lost Highway are scheduled.
Anthology Film Archives features a new restoration of João César Monteiro’s Snow White on Saturday and hosts a retrospective of Rosemary Hochschild’s work.
Film Forum has kicked off a René Clair retrospective, while Luis Buñuel’s Él continues in a 4K restoration alongside Play It As It Lays and Godard’s A Woman Is a Woman; Modern Times will be screened on Sunday.
IFC Center is screening a new restoration of Hideaki Anno’s Love & Pop; late-night screenings include Stop Making Sense, Mulholland Dr., Lost Highway, Best in Show, Palindromes, and Pink Flamingos.
BAM is still showing Heiny Srour’s Leila and the Wolves.
Nitehawk Cinema will present Paper Moon early on Saturday and Sunday.
Metrograph is screening Drop Dead Gorgeous, Ginger and Fred, The Virgin Suicides, River’s Edge, and Diabolique on 35mm; a series featuring Sepideh Farsi, Olukemi Lijadu, and This Long Century is also being held, along with Tonino Guerra, Inbal Weinberg, Welcome to Suburbia, Take a Walk on the Wild Side, and The Body Between Us.
