Joey King is in discussions to join Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic 2.
Development of Practical Magic 2 is progressing steadily. A few weeks after the release of a brief teaser and the announcement of its premiere date in 2026, Warner Bros. has revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that young actress Joey King (Bullet Train) is in negotiations to join the returning Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
Released in 1998, Practical Magic featured Bullock and Kidman as two witch sisters raised by their quirky aunts in a small town, who confront the narrow-minded prejudice of others and a curse that threatens their chances of finding enduring love.
King will portray the daughter of Sally Owens, Bullock's character, who "uncovers dark family secrets and her own sinister powers, leading the family into turmoil."
Practical Magic 2 will be directed by Susanne Bier (Birdbox), with the original screenwriter Akiva Goldsman working on the script. Bullock, Kidman, and Denise Di Novi will be the producers. Filming is set to commence this summer in London.
Practical Magic 2 is scheduled for release on September 18, 2026.
