Get your first glimpse of Samuel L. Jackson and Sylvester Stallone in season 3 of Tulsa King, as NOLA King receives a series order.
Paramount has unveiled the first glimpse of the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s *Tulsa King*, which also hints at its forthcoming spin-off, *NOLA King*, that has officially received a series order. Joining the cast for the third season before transitioning to the spin-off is the legendary Samuel L. Jackson, who is seen meeting Stallone’s character, Dwight Manfredi.
Jackson will portray Russell Lee Washington Jr., a former associate of Manfredi’s from their shared time in prison. Although they share a friendship, the two will find themselves at odds as they vie for power before Jackson moves on to *NOLA King*.
The spin-off will center on "Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson), who, after forming a bond with Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) during a decade in federal prison, is dispatched to Tulsa by New York’s Renzetti crime family to eliminate Dwight once and for all. Inspired by Dwight’s achievements in Tulsa and motivated by the potential for second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the city he left 40 years ago, to reconnect with family and friends while seeking to reclaim control of the city he abandoned. In doing so, he attracts the ire of his former employers in New York and exposes himself to old adversaries in NOLA, including both criminals and law enforcement."
"Chris McCarthy presented me with an idea that could transform my show into something beyond just a mob boss narrative, creating a rich, family-centric franchise," Stallone remarked. "I was immediately enthusiastic. Sam Jackson is the ideal anchor for this new adventure in NOLA, and David Glasser and 101 are the perfect partners to bring it to fruition."
“Samuel L. Jackson possesses an unmatched charisma and global appeal, making him the ideal choice to elevate one of our most significant hits into a successful franchise,” stated Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment. “Building on the success of Sylvester Stallone’s *Tulsa King*, viewers will now witness the full impact of Jackson’s dynamic and nuanced performance, energizing one of Paramount+’s leading series."
“Collaborating with Paramount has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” expressed Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios. “Taylor had the brilliant vision to place Sylvester Stallone in the heart of Tulsa, and it has exceeded all our expectations. The success of this series has now brought us another icon. I eagerly anticipate what Sam will contribute to this universe.”
*NOLA King* will have Dave Erikson as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Taylor Sheridan, the creator of *Tulsa King*, along with Glasser from 101 Studios, will also serve as executive producers. Production is slated to commence in February 2026.
