Coinciding with its US premiere this weekend, new promotional materials including a poster, trailer, and images have been released for The Red Mask, a meta-slasher film directed by Ritesh Gupta. 

Helena Howard plays Allina, an indie screenwriter brought on to reboot a beloved 80s slasher franchise, who secludes herself in a remote cabin to finish her script. However, as her screenplay begins to alter unexpectedly and two masked strangers arrive at her door, she becomes ensnared in the disturbing intersection of homage and reality. 

The cast also includes Innanna Sarkis, Jake Abel, and Kelli Garner. Watch the trailer below...

When Allina Green, a talented indie screenwriter, is tasked with revitalizing a cult slasher series, she and her fiancé Deetz escape to a secluded rental to engage in 'method-writing' a new interpretation. But as Allina's script starts to take on a life of its own and two eerie strangers arrive claiming they’ve reserved the same cabin, her weekend of writing spirals into a frightening exploration of fandom, identity, and a legacy she never intended to take on.
